Getting around
Travelling around Lisbon is easy, and although most places are accessible and easily explored on foot, it is advisable to take the funicular railways up steep hills. Alternatively, there is a good tram network, regular buses, the Metro service and numerous reasonably priced taxis. Regular trains also run along the coast of Lisbon to Estoril and Cascais. Trains depart from Lisbon to Estoril and Cascais every 15 minutes, a journey of around 40-50 minutes, and cost from approximately €3 each way. Estoril is easily explored on foot and Cascais has a frequent local bus service that circles the town, although it is quite slow.
