Transfers
Logan International Airport is three miles from the downtown area. There are free shuttles from the terminals to the airport subway station from where it takes about 10 minutes to get to the downtown area, or you could take the water shuttle across the harbour to Rowes Wharf. Taxis to and from the airport cost approximately $30 including toll charges and take around 20-30 minutes.
Getting around
Boston is easily explored on foot and is considered to be Americas most walkable city - just make sure you wear comfortable shoes. Explore the pretty cobbled streets of Beacon Hill or follow the Freedom Trail, a historical walk through Bostons past. The subway system, known as the T, runs from 5am-12.30am and provides an efficient service at affordable prices. Driving within the city limits is not for the faint-hearted due to the one-way streets, congestion and expensive and limited parking spaces.
