Transfers
John F. Kennedy (JFK) is New Yorks largest and busiest airport and is located 15 miles east of Manhattan in Queens. LaGuardia is about eight miles from Manhattan and the third airport, Newark International, is 16 miles south-west in New Jersey. All three airports have a journey time of approximately 45-60 minutes to New York City, depending on traffic and the time of day. Reasonably priced buses cost from $10-14 one way, and a one-way taxi fare will cost around $30-40.
 
Getting around
Walking around New Yorks famous sights and attractions is a great way to soak up the citys atmosphere, though it can be quite tiring. The fastest way to get from one place to another is to use the subway which is open 24 hours a day and costs $1.50 regardless of the length of your journey. The New York bus service is clean and efficient but can be extremely slow at peak times. Taxis can be found everywhere and are reasonably priced.
