Transfers

Both of Washington DCs international airports offer convenient links to the city. A metrobus service runs from Dulles International Airport (26 Miles west of the city centre) to the downtown area every 60 minutes. This 40 minute journey costs approximately $3 one-way. An alternative is the Washington Flyer Express that costs in the region of $9 and departs from the airport to the downtown Metro stations. Baltimore/Washington, DC International is about 45 minutes drive from Washington, DC with regular buses and trains between the two. Taxis cost around $35-$50 one way.

Getting around
Driving is not recommended in Washington DC and youll find most major attractions are within easy walking distance of one another. In addition, the public transport system is impressive, with a clean and efficient Metro service. Greyhound routes cover most of the city, making travel by bus a good alternative option, and taxis are not too expensive - cross-town fares range from $4-$12.50.
