Entry details (for British nationals) A visa is
required for most Egypt trips - these can be obtained on arrival.
If you intend to leave and re-enter Egupt, you'll require a
multi-entry visa. Passports need at least 6 months validity from
your entry date. Evidence of a previous visit to Israel does not
normally cause difficulties when entering Egypt. However, if you
are concerned, contact the Egyptian consulate. Before you depart,

Good to know
During Ramadan (starting on 9 July 2013), a night-time festival
atmosphere prevails. Muslims fast, and some restaurants may be
closed during the day. Tipping is standard practice in Egypt,
so keep small notes for these purposes - try to tip anyone who
offers you assistance or service. Haggling in markets is a way of
life. It can be fun, too
Legendary sights You'll already know about the world-famous
pyramids and the Sphinx, and visiting these remarkable
constructions is without doubt a must. The Valley of the Kings
burial ground contains 63 tombs, while the High Dam in Aswan is
spectacular. The Egyptian Museum of Antiquities houses 12,000
artefacts, and you can see mummies here, as well as the contents of
Tutankhamun's tomb and his mask. Hidden gems There are many sights
you won't have heard of before holidaying in Egypt. But trust us,
once you've seen them, you'll never forget them. From the Red Sea
resorts, travel to Mount Sinai, which is home to the oldest
Christian Monastery still standing. Visit Denderah to see one of
the bestpreserved temple complexes in Egypt, as well as The Sun
Temple of Ramses at Abu Simbel. Visit the Temple of Philae - in
particular the sound and light show retelling the legend of Isis
and Osiri
