Dreamt of visiting the pyramids in
Cairo or staring up at the mighty Sphinx? These last remaining
wonders of the ancient world offer a truly unforgettable
experience. Egypt's capital is a walled medieval city on the banks
of the Nile, and while its most famous monuments may be in memory
of those long dead, vibrant Cairo is a city that is very much
alive. There's lots to see here, but with Signature's tours, you
can be sure to pack everything in. You'll be in awe of the three
huge pyramids in Giza, which were completed 2,000 years BC. The
Sphinx stands 20 metres high guarding the Pyramid of Chephren and
was built out of a huge block of limestone. A camel ride here will
complete your memorable experience. In the evening, view a sound
and light show at the pyramids - spectacular. The medieval Islamic
quarter of Cairo is home to the Citadel, built in 1176, and home to
all the Egyptian rulers for 700 years. Here, you can also take in
the beautiful Sultan Hassan Mosque, before experiencing Egyptian
culture by haggling for souvenirs at Khan el-Khalili bazaar.
