The
Masai Mara National Reserve is one of the world's most exciting
places to go on safari, spanning 1,510 square kilometres in the
southwest of Kenya. The reserve's name is derived from its
indigenous inhabitants, the Masai, a cattlerearing tribe whose word
for mottled, 'mara', is used to describe the nature of the
reserve's landscape. The Mara River, which runs through the
reserve, is home to many hippos and crocodiles, making the annual
migration from July to September of over a million wildebeest and
hundreds of thousands of zebras a dangerous task. It does, however
create the perfect opportunity for you to see these wild animals in
their natural state. Luxurious camps and lodges are nestled within
the park, serving top-class food and offering a friendly service.
Situated in the heart of animal activity, don't be surprised to see
the occasional lion pass by the camp's perimeters!
Flight time
