It may seem like ages away when you make your booking, however the time will quickly pass and we want to ensure you have all the information and documents required to make getting married abroad a stress-free, enjoyable process. Call the Thomas Cook Signature Weddings experts on 0844 800 7001 or visit your local travel agent. We recommend you aim to stay for 14 nights, as there is usually a minimum residency requirement of two to five days in most resorts before you can apply for a license. Holding your wedding ceremony at the end of the first week will give you time to acclimatise, recover from jet lag, enjoy the sunshine and relax.
Check availability and pay a non refundable deposit of £100. Please note that some hotels or resorts may require an additional deposit to secure your wedding date. Check that you have every piece of documentation that is required for a wedding in your chosen destination. Approximately a week after you've booked you will receive a Thomas Cook Weddings Abroad Guide Sheet, telling you all about your resort and explaining the next steps.
Tell relatives and close friends of your plans so that they can be added to your booking as soon as possible.

Locate all of your original documents such as your passport and birth certificate and make two photocopies or as many as required.
Apply for any visas that you require and organise your insurance.
Check which vaccinations you may need for travelling abroad and book in with your doctor.
Practice your hair and make up until it comes naturally as you may prefer to do these yourself on the day.
Choose your wedding rings.

Reconfirm all of your travel arrangements, including how to get to the airport, any overnight accommodation and car parking.
Order your foreign currency.
Finalise your guest list. Group discounts for family and friends are available, but only if you can confirm names, dates of birth and numbers as you are booking your wedding.
Begin to organise your packing and wedding dress carriers, verifying the weight allowance. Also check you have all your accessories for your holiday.
You should receive your travel documents about now; double-check your tickets and itinerary. Make sure you are 100% satisfied.

On arrival, meet with your wedding coordinator who will help you get to know the resort, choose your wedding location and flowers. Have a final rehearsal the day before your wedding.
Book any hair and beauty appointments.
Hang your wedding attire in a steamy bathroom to help creases fall out after the journey or contact house keeping to get them pressed.
Remember to take some time to relax and pamper yourself before your big day.
Write yourself a check-list so you can refer to it on the big day.

Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get ready.
